MASTER

YOUR

MESSAGE

At Fundraising Communications,

we drive revenue for nonprofit organizations.

We do this by finding (and crafting) the stories

that prompt conversations and

advance organizational goals.

There’s nothing better than

case statements that engage new audiences,

executive speeches that capture a voice and inspire action,

and winning-proposals that bring real change.

So, what’s our secret sauce?

It’s called your MASTER NARRATIVE.

While placing your mission at the heart of your story seems intuitive, it’s your constituents who are the heroes of mission-based work.

Taking a deep look at what drives your constituents and speaking to what motivates them.

Understanding their reasons for giving, volunteering, and serving is essential to connecting with them.

Understanding how their giving to your organization satisfies their needs.

Every hero of every story faces obstacles. Your constituents give because it satisfies a need. The Master Narrative speaks to that need.

The Master Narrative places your donors, your volunteers, and your staff at the center of your story.

How do you solve your constituents’ problems? Answer this and you begin to see new ways of connecting with them.

A UNIQUE

APPROACH

With 25 years experience in fundraising, we’ve developed a unique approach to UNCOVER YOUR MASTER NARRATIVE and TELL THE STORIES THAT INSPIRE YOUR MOST IMPORTANT AUDIENCES:

YOUR DONORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND TEAM MEMBERS.

The Master Narrative Process

  • Attracting new constituents relies on understanding existing ones and marketing to similar prospects.

Interviews with select constituents as well as data mining for prospective growth opportunities provide the foundation for building the master narrative.

  • What motivates your constituents to give, volunteer, and serve?

Understanding your constituents problems reveals opportunities to build relationships.

This becomes the basis for your communications to each group.

  • Traditional market research present a barage of questions. We seek out the stories that reveal your constituents’ struggles, their motivations, and how they see their role in your mission and impact.

  • When you understand your constituents problems, you see how to place your donors as the heroes in your story—your service is not the hero, your donor is the hero.

This makes your appeal personal, emotional, and inspirational.

ABOUT

Hi, I’m Julia.

I bring 25 years experience as a front-line fundraiser to my work with Fundraising Communications. My teams have asked individuals, companies, and foundations to make philanthropic gifts for higher education, social service and cultural organizations, and environmental causes. I have hands-on experience in institutional giving, capital campaigns, annual fund and membership campaigns, and donor stewardship.

Now, I specialize in donor communications from proposals to talking points that reflect your master narrative and drive giving to your cause.

I’d love to work with you. Call me for a conversation about finding the stories that inspire your donors, volunteers, and team members.
